I stopped in at The Beer Junction to get a taste of the new limited release, draft only, Ayinger Maibock. I got a great beer and massive sticker shock!!!!! The nice lady poured the beer and said “$7.50 please.”
“Gulp,” I thought as I walked back to my table. This better be good beer. It was pretty good. About the same as the My Bark I brewed at home. But not worth such a premium price.
I followed that up with a 10 oz pour of Coffee Girl from Fort George Brewing – for a whopping $5.50. Last on the tab was a Makeda Coffee Porter from Rooftop Brews on Queen Anne Hill. That was $6.50, for a pint. I bought some bottled beers; five for just under $45. I am thinking, “What the hell happened to $4 pints?”
On a recent trip to World of Beer, who now serves their own food and scolds you if you don’t know that and bring in your own, even a tub of popcorn from the nearby theater, two beers of medium quality were $8 each.
My homebrew is looking better and better all the time.
