January Festivals Abound

Well okay then. Seems the beer festival organizers all agree that the last weekend in January is the best time to stage their event.

threefest collageThree great festivals are out there for your weekend enjoyment: Strange Brewfest in Port Townsend, Belgian Fest in Seattle, and the Pike Chocofest at the Pike Brewing facility.

January 29-30, 2016

“With each year, we consider both the honor and the achievement of presenting another edition of Strange Brewfest. On January 29-30, 2016, we will offer our 12th version of Port Townsend’s ode to NW brewers, and their imaginations.”

Belgian Fest 2016 – This event is put on by the Washington Beer Commission. Two sessions on Saturday, Jan 30.

“The 7th Annual Belgian Fest at a new venue, Fisher Pavilion at Seattle Center, will highlight 100+ Belgian-style beers crafted by Washington breweries. Featured beer styles includ Tripels, Dubbels, Saisons, Wits, Abbeys and Lambics. In keeping with this unique style, all of the beers are brewed with Belgian yeast.”

Pike Chocofest 2016

Fall in love with beer, chocolate and savory bites at Pike Chocofest. This culinary evening described as “foreplay before the big day”celebrates Valentine’s Day in Seattle and is a romantic food and drink lovers delight. Over 65 of the area’s premiere breweries, wineries, distilleries, restaurants, cheese makers, bakers and chocolatiers will fill the Pike Brewing Company and entice you with delicious bites and tastes. The evening includes a cask beer festival, with rare cask beers, many featuringchocolate, from the Puget Sound’s top brewers. Best of all, Pike Chocofest benefits PugetSoundkeeper, who is protecting and preserving the waters of Puget Sound. 
Pike Chocofest takes place on Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 6-9 PM at Pike Brewing Company (1415 First Avenue, between Pike & Union). Admission includes all food, commemorative glass, 10 drink tickets, live music and up to $4 off parking at Russell Investment Garage. Tickets are $50 in advance. Chocofest is a 21+ event.
