Seattle Beer Week Starts May 4

The BHAM (Bellingham) Beer Week is over. If that wasn’t enough excitement, there were four beer festivals last weekend alone; Bacon and Beer Festival, Kirkland Spring Beerfest, Cheese and Meat (and beer) Festival and Tri-Citie’s inaurgual beer fest. Now, the Seattle Beer Week is just about to start a 10-day run (long week!).

I’ve had some mixed opinions about this event in years past. Too many things going on, too much beer that wasn’t related to Seattle’s beer scene (or even Washington’s for that matter). This year the events tend to a bit more locally focused, although you will be seeing some Oregon and California beers at some of the venues. There will be beers from other parts of Washington (which I am not at all opposed to).

My biggest problem is my chronic case of FOMO. There are just too many neat things going on. You cannot go to all the ones that might interest you. But then there are a lot of craft beer enthusiasts in the area and you need lots of events to spread them all out.

That said, here is the official list of activities that Seattle area breweries and tap houses have planned this year.  http://www.seattlebeerweek.com/events

Pick one, one a day, or knock yourself out. Uber and Lyft and other forms of assisted transportation can be found to meet your needs.
