From time to time I will evaluate a beer suggested by a reader or local supplier. I will also research reviews by other bloggers and contributors to the high traffic web sites (BeerAdvocate, RateBeer, etc.) to see how we compare. I often disagree with what the established gurus say. They may give it a 90+ rating but if it made me gag and I couldn’t get the taste out of my mouth for a half hour, I will tell you so. We will see what we will see.
Publisher’s Note: Contrary to what some of my friends think, I do not drink beer every day. With so many festivals recently, it has been a while since I have popped into a local bottle shop to find something I have not seen before. But why wait for me? If you have tried a new beer and have something to say about it, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will post it.
Follow the links from the Drop Down menu or click a link here. I use the Five Heart rating system ♥♥♥♥♥ based on some simple criteria. I start at ♥♥♥ and add a ♥ if the beer was just good or notably better than good. I subtract a ♥ if the beer was noticeably lacking in those same things.
