The cider was quite good. The beers, just average. All good, but none great. Service was great, too.
Gritty’s is known for being Portland’s oldest brew pub. It was very crowded for a Wednesday night. Everyone appeared to have this on their favorites list. The Mug Club mugs hanging over the bar and along the wall behind it were pretty awesome. The sunset over Casco Bay made me wonder what it might be like to live here all the time. Have beer? Will travel.
That was good for an appetizer, but the real meal was still swimming in the fresh-caught-today lobster tank at the Portland Lobster Company. The brew alongside was a Sea Dog Blue Paw Wild Blueberry Wheat Ale.
For dessert, a trip to the Sebago Brewing Company and a Lake Trout Stout seemed like a natural. Beer blogging is hard work.
