Craft Brewery Touring in Washington

Washington_stateThe state of Washington is considered by many to be the birthplace of the craft beer revolution. Other areas claim to be “the first” or “where it all started” but for the most part, they are isolated efforts that generated only a local following.

By revolution, I mean, changing the beer culture and taking craft beer seriously on a large scale. Like “grunge”, “garage bands” and gourmet coffee, brewers in Washington and Oregon have been industry leaders, creating imaginative craft beers for decades.

Microbreweries are much more common now in Colorado and California, and increasingly evident throughout the Midwest and Northeast. Many homebrewers are taking the plunge into nanohood, and the cultural phenomenon of the local brewery is making a major comeback.
